Excelsior

The Latin phrase “excelsior” is usually translated to mean “onward and upward.” Excelsior is generally a positive and helpful concept, but it also asks many questions of us. For instance, what does it mean to live according to this ideal when things can seem so difficult and regressive?  ? How can we find our way to “Onward and upward” when we are surrounded by people who would rather move backwards? And is moving onward and upward always a positive thing?”
