This month’s theme is the gift of generosity. What is generosity? What if something is given but not needed? What determines if a gift is generous? If I give you a present but you don’t want it, is it generous? Is generosity proportional to wealth? Is sacrifice required? Is it better to give than to receive? Who benefits from generosity? During this non-traditional worship service we will explore the idea of generosity as an opening of instead of a giving to. Using expressive arts—drumming, music, visual arts, and poetry—we will practice trying on different perspectives as a pathway to generosity so that when we do give, our gifts benefit both the giver and the receiver.
